These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Toast News browser extension, mobile app, and website (together, the “Service”). By installing the extension or app, or creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Toast News.
Using Toast News
Toast News turns news into short videos for your personal, non-commercial use: a daily video report built from the topics you follow, and a video brief for any single article you choose to convert. You may use the Service only in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws. You are responsible for any activity that happens under your account.
Accounts
Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your password secure, and notify us of any unauthorized use. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
Free and Unlimited plans
The Free plan includes one video report per day and up to 5 video briefs per calendar month, with the full quality stack and saved history. The Unlimited plan removes both caps for $5/month or $36/year. Both plans use the same generation quality and carry no watermark. Plan limits and pricing are shown in your dashboard and may be updated with reasonable notice.
Billing and cancellation
Unlimited subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe on a recurring basis until cancelled. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service — including reverse-engineering or attempting to derive the source code, structure, or underlying methods of the extension or Service, bypassing usage limits, reselling briefs, overloading our systems, or using Toast News to process content you do not have the right to access. We may suspend accounts that violate these rules.
Content and intellectual property
Articles you convert remain the property of their original publishers, and any third-party text, images, or other media that may appear in a brief belong to their respective owners. Toast News does not claim ownership of source content, and you are responsible for ensuring your use of generated briefs respects the rights of the original publishers and rights holders. The Toast News name, extension, software, and the systems and methods used to generate briefs are the exclusive property of Toast News, and nothing in these Terms grants you any right to copy, reproduce, or reverse-engineer them.
Disclaimers
Toast News uses artificial intelligence to generate summaries and narration. The text of each article you choose to convert is sent to third-party AI providers (currently Google Gemini and Groq) to write the summary, and the AI can make mistakes: summaries may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Briefs are not a substitute for reading primary sources where accuracy is critical. You use the Service at your own discretion.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Toast News and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes and termination
We may update these Terms or modify the Service over time. We will post material changes on this page with a new date. You may stop using Toast News at any time, and we may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
